Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (Bon Secours Kentucky Health System) located in the Tri-State region of northeast Kentucky, southern Ohio, and western West Virginia, is a 214-bed acute care hospital. Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) employees 1,200 specially trained healthcare professionals and is the Ashland area’s third largest employer.

Healthy Community Services (HCS) is the umbrella under which OLBH operates its various community and faith-based health ministry initiatives which include:

Health Ministries/Faith Community Nursing: HCS partners with local congregations to develop disease management and prevention programs that lead to the integration of faith and health. Health ministry programs include health screenings, health education programs such as CPR and Safe Sitter classes, monthly mailings and support of faith community nursing.

Van Ministry: HCS operates a van ministry to provide free non-emergency medical transportation to and from the OLBH campus for office visits and other outpatient hospital appointments.

Meals on Wheels: HCS operates Meals on Wheels programs in three local communities and has assisted an additional four communities in developing their own programs using their unique community resources. HCS continues to provide administrative support for these programs.

Volunteer Caregivers: HCS recruits and trains volunteers from both the local and faith communities to provide non-medical assistance to the elderly and disabled in our service area. Our goal is to provide the support needed to keep these individuals living independently in their own homes for as long as possible.
