Faith Community Nursing
Bon Secours St. Francis Health System has an established Faith Community Nursing Program that promotes intellectual, social, spiritual, and psychological health to five communities near ST. FRANCIS downtown. Three full-time registered nurses live out the Bon Secours mission of bringing "good help to those in need" by promoting compassion, liberation and healing in extending the charism of the Sisters of Bon Secours.

Our Faith Community Nurses provide the following:

  • Health and Wellness Information

  • Blood Pressure and Glucose Testing

  • Annual Flu Vaccine Clinics

  • Information on and help in finding available health care, social service and
    medication/financial assistance programs

  • Help locating a medical home and navigating the healthcare system

  • Visit those that are sick, hospitalized, or homebound

  • A supportive companion and caring presence during times of stress, illness or crisis

In addition to providing individualized care, St. Francis Faith Community Nurses organize health-related group and community events throughout the year. Often collaborating with healthcare, community, social, and government agencies to provide services and resources that are needed in the community.

St. Francis CARES
St. Francis CARES (Congregational Assistance with Resources and Services) is an innovative way to connect congregations with community, social, and healthcare services that promote a healthy and whole congregation. St. Francis CARES is made up of diverse congregations from Greenville County. We work with each congregation to create a unique program and services that will benefit the parish.

St. Francis CARES helps congregations find and/or advocate for the resources and educational services needed for their congregation. We can help provide:

  • Health Kiosk

  • Health Bulletin Board

  • Newsletters

  • CPR/First Aid Training

  • Health Related Events

  • Annual Flu Vaccine Clinics

  • Chronic Health Education (Diabetes and Heart Disease)

  • Education about Sports Medicine, Hospice Care, Cardiac Services, Women Services, Infection Control, and Faith Community Nursing

In addition, St. Francis CARES hosts events throughout the year that focus on the health and wholeness of our community. These events are free and open to any congregation in Greenville County.

If your congregation has a faith community nursing program (parish nursing), a congregational health ministry team or would like to establish one, these events area a great way to get information. You will find out about services and programs in the community and find out what other congregations are doing to promote a healthy and whole congregation.
